I've done a lot of searching .. and it seems like conrtroling my Elite 50" w/ the MSC 400 on rs-232 should be easy ... but it's been fighting me.

I have set the integrator menu to 9600 / rs232 and I have used a null modem adapter on the URC cable. I've even made up my own cable using the pinout diagram provided on pioneers literature.

The pioneer is yet to give me any response whatsoever.

Any Ideas????

( the TV is a pro 1120 HD with the media receiver (PRO - R05U)

Thanks - Chris

I would do two things:

1) Try controlling the TV with a PC first. Just to make sure it accepts commands and does what you think it should do.

2) Download a simple test into the MSC-400 and try it out. Notice I said download first. I had some trouble where the MSC-400 did nothing until I downloaded the software. I don't know if it was the update to firmware or the downloading of the serial commands, but it worked then.

Good luck...

I think you are going to need the service manual to talk to the TV. Supposedly it lists the commands (I don't have one). However, you might try the following (it should set the volume to 10 - maybe - saw it somewhare on the Net). Set your PC to 9600 Baud, 8 bits, no parity and send "DF80607F0305010A51". Maybe it will work, maybe not (it was not the same TV).
