just installed our first mrf-350 and am having a few problems. one of our installers or lackies as i like to call them trashed the paper work so i am not sure how its supposed to work. but it seems i am getting sparatic usage and sometimes the flashers are stuck on even when a button is not pressed. I did notice that the RF light on the base station is on we have problems and when its off things seem to work ok. Is this normal? we are using an MX-850 for a remote. my base id is set to 5 on the mrf and the remote.

Sounds like you may want to move around your antenna to eliminate interference.
You have reached my voicemail. I will be out of the office until you stop calling.

thats what i thought. I am gonna try and reposition the ant. I have 2 pioneer cable boxes, denin receiver, sony receiver and a sony dvd player in the rack. Not sure if the pioneer is causing the problem so I may relocate the ant.

Wait...if the base ID AND the remote is set to "5" then the status light on the base station should only light when a button on the remote is pushed - and only then. If you have interference, then you should not get a red status light (during interference) on the base station. You would, however, get LED confirmation of interference on the RFX250 remote antenna, regardless on the remote/base ID. Is the LED you are referring to, on the base station or the antenna?

It is possible that you have a buggy remote, antenna or base unit. Start replacing them one-by-one to see if the problem rectifies itself.

its on the ant. I noticed the rf light on and then moved some things around to plug in something and then it was off. I moved it maybe 5 inches.

If the flashers are on, then try to turn them down. If they are turned up, the light on the flasher will stay on.

If you are seeing this situation, you have light RF interference. Light RF interference will cause the emitters to "hang" temporarily, Heavy RF interference will cause them to hang longer. Move the antenna around until this symptom goes away.

I always start with emitters at the half-way point, if you see the emitter "hang on" at all after you release the button there is RF getting in and holding the "gate" open, you need to solve this first by moving the RFX or switching to the I series (433Mhz) which has worked great in tough situations for us.
