I am desperately hoping someone can help me out here...I recently purchased an older model (manufactured late 2004 according to the serial number) MX-3000 remote from a friend and he no longer has the USB programming cable. After trying 4- and 5-pin connectors to no avail, and searching incessantly on various websites, I have not been able to find anything to connect my remote to my computer. Does anyone have an older programming cable that they'd be willing to sell? If so please contact me and let me know and I'll send you payment via paypal. Thanks in advance to anyone who can lend me a hand here!

And also a quick thanks to everyone who has posted MX-3000 control templates on this site...they've been immensely helpful as I've slogged through days of hapless programming attempts (sadly my struggles continue, although I think I'm finally making some headway). Seeing what some of you can do makes me feel like a bronze medalist at the remote programming Special Olympics, but I suppose every skill has a learning curve, humbling as it may be. Thanks again!

I was in the same situation last year. I had a URC dealer contact them (URC) for me and order a new cable and a new battery for my first gen 3000. It took them about 4 months to get the cable out to me since they were out of stock and back ordered. If you havent tried that avenue I would give it a shot.

AZCS, I find your statement hard to believe. My dane recently ate the cable for my older MX-3000. I simply went to the universalremote.com webiste, got their phone number, called them, and for a mere $15 got a new cable. The people at Universal Remote are very helpful and are a pleaseure to work with.
