Hi everyone, just got a MX-980 today and am in the middle of programming it.

I have noticed that when the remote is powered on from idle, it defaults to the "Listen" screen. Is there any way to set the remote to default to the "Watch" screen instead?

Great question!

I'm not far ahead of you as I have had my 980 for a couple weeks and haven't had as much time to spend working on it as I would like. I don't have the answer for you, but will be watching the thread for it as I would like to adjust mine also.

By default thats how the remote was made.

Workaround - You can hide every page, on every device on "Listen" then the remote will startup on the "Watch" Screen. If you need to access anything on the listen page, just create "Goto" commands
You win some, you loose some...

I must be misunderstanding something here...

The remote defaults to Listen after you download a program to it. After that, Watch and Listen become interchangeable because there's no "main" page.

Are you wanting to modify the state the remote defaults to after a download, for that one single time per download that it ever defaults to anything? If so, I'm kind of scratching my head because, once in use, that default will never come into play.

So... did I miss something?

Best regards,
Dale

Thanks for the clarification Dale. After playing around with the remote and several programming sessions, I eventually realized that's how the remote works, and as a result my original question is not really an issue.

It also returns to Listen after it discharges (or when I have to remove the battery when it freezes). Is there any way to make it default to Watch?

There's not...

It's a boot state. Since it only occurs on a boot of the remote, I honestly don't even see that it would be worth changing if it could be changed. But hey, that's just me.

Best regards,
Dale

Does anyone have access to the source code for the firmware? It should be pretty easy to change.
