the dog ate my data cable. any idea on how to get a replacement since it's not a standard usb? i emailed URC. since i can't get software updates, not sure how friendly they will be about a new cable...

Actually it is a standard USB cable. I lost mine too. It is a standard USB Type A to Mini-B. An example is here.

You can pick these up at many places.

Give Universal Remote a call. I have alway received excellent service from them and I bought my MX-3000 over ebay too.

yes, mine has the fancy odd usb connector. i will try calling urc. i saw a post somewhere else about the cables being on (indefinite) back order. bummer.

What you're looking for is not a standard USB A Male to mini-B. This is what is used for the newer version MX-3000.

You need a USB 4-pin A Male to mini 4-pin A male.
