Thinking about replacing my old ProntoNeo with one of these remotes. I realize that the mx-810 is the newer remote and looks a little nicer, but is it worth the extra money? I will be controlling about 6 or 7 devices in a single room system, as well as doing the programming myself. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks, Mike

Can't say much about the MX-810, but I do have an MX-850.
It's been dependable and reliable so far.
I prefer it over an MX-900, MX-650, and MX-350 that I have.
It's a proven platform, based on the MX-500, but with a few generations of improvements and upgrades.
Battery life is good, button feel and layout is excellent, and backlighting is very easy to see in the dark.
The downsides are relatively minor:
It uses a serial port connector cable instead of USB, making downloads/uploads slower.
Depending on how old your unit is, it will not be narrow band RF compatible, but in my location that isn't really an issue, as my MF-300 works flawlessly with the MX-850.
If RF is an issue in your application, this may be something to consider.
I plan on using my MX-850 reliably for many more years, and have no desire to upgrade or change anything, as it does everything I need it to do.

Thanks for the reply Button Head. I would like to use the RF feature. I have an older Dishnet DVR receiver that I sometimes have problems controlling from another room using RF, so I'm not sure whether the Narrow Band RF that the MX-810 uses would be better.

All the new MX-850's (Nov 1 2006 and later) use narrow band RF.
