I just got the MX-810 remote for Christmas and programmed it today. I added my DVD player and DirecTV Satellite tuner with TiVO fine, but my AV receiver is not listed in the software database. I have the Denon 987 AV receiver (RC-1051). I had to choose the Denon 2807 since it was the closest in the database.

I have all the functions working for my Denon except the volume up/down buttons. I cannot seem to get the volume controls to work for my receiver or my TiVO. I tried the learning mode through the software and it also did not seem to work. I have looked for the discreet codes for the Denon 987 but cannot find them online. Can anyone help?

Thanks.

try adding another device and using a different code set, and set it as the amp, and punch through all the volume from it if it works. There was a number of Denon volume issues in the past year to year and a half which had to do with faulty IR receivers in the Denon units. Try adding a piece of electrical tape over the IR receiver.

There were 2 problems, the RF was only one of the issues, where it stripped the carrier frequency or something. There was also a large number that had issues receiving over powered (volume) commands from control systems. The original remotes were far less powerful in regards to blasting the IR signal, but when upgraded to the URC's they would not properly control the volume. The biggest issue was in regards to volume ramping up or down.

I set up a new device in my URC MX-810 with the code set for the Denon 985S and the volume control problem is fixed. Everything works great now. Thanks for the help.
