I have a samsung LN-T5271F, and I had to learn all the buttons on the remote. When I use the activity "watch tv", I can not get the tv to switch to the correct input. It will work once then never again. I have even tested it in the "test input automation" and i can get it working there but only after adding a delay of 4000 ms. After i save and upload to the remote it doesn't work. I think it has something to do with the fact that the codes for this tv have not yet been added to the database and switching inputs might be tricky. Also the tv only lets you switch between inputs that are connect, so for example the hdmi is only illuminated if my dvd player is pluged in, playstation, etc. Can anyone help???

you can only learn codes into the 'Device' part of the remote, you then need to copy button/code into the 'Activity' part of the remote.

Using a TV with Discrete codes, or running all your video switching through an A/V surround sound receiver or video selector would be your best solution... A more advanced remote may also be able to correct the problem with the proper programming, but not neccessarily.

Are you using the "discrete 2007" codes in addition to the standard 5271 codes in your programming?

If not, add a device called "samsung discretes" and use the discrete 2007 codes from the database. You can cut and paste the discrete input commands from this device into your TV activites or copy and paste them into the TV device code set. This has fixed this issue for me on a similar installation, so it should work for you. You might also need to add a delay or re-order the commands on that macro to ensure it executes correctly.

J,

The discrete codes worked perfectly, you have to add the discrete codes as a device (i.e. lcd tv, then select discrete). I went into the activity and added a step, direct from the discrete device "component 2" and it has been working flawlessly so far. Thanks so much for your help, I thought I was going to have to buy a new remote. (mx980)
