Hi,

I am new to RF remote and base station setup so would appreciate any help you guys can provide.

I just installed a 46" LCD on the wall of my Living room and here is what I want to achive.

1. All components located in the basement, Dish receivers, DVR's, BD and HD players etc

2. Distance from TV to Component location appx 10FT

3. user location to Components 20FT

Floor type Hardwood between 1st floor and basement walls center blocks concrete

I would like to install a RF remote that can control all the components located in the basement from the living room also must not interfere with cordless phones or wireless network both on 5.8ghz

if possible some thing simple to program and easy to use.

thank you guys

Manish

You might want to look into an MX-350/MRF-350 combo as your lowest priced solution. However, I would recommend an MX-900/MRF-350 combo for PC programmability.

Of course, that's what everybody wants! For programming something RF you are taking a pretty big bite here but your confidence is good. If you are prepared to put some time into this it is realistic that you could get it up and running and operating individual components. However, if you really want to get the full potential for what these types of remotes can do you will definately want to hire a pro at least consult with an experienced programmer.

Obviously, you can consult here but you need to know that there are many variables as to what doing it right will take, how much of your life you will be spending messing with it. This starts with specific models of the gear you have. For example, there is always the chance that certain equipment will not work properly with the remote at all without buying extra parts and so on. Happy Holidays.
