Hi All
Please pardon my lack of knowledge on the URC remotes. I have been looking for a new remote and like the mx-980 however I am concerned about the policies I have been reading about for obtaining software. I have a couple of questions that maybe someone in the know can help with.
1. What is the differance in the updatable vs. non-updatable software?
2. How does one tell if they have been sent updatable vs. non-updatable software? Are they different version number?
Thanks for the help.

Right now, there is only one software for the MX-980 and that's the updateable one. It's possible that there will never be a non-updateable version available.
Updateable means that it connects to URC's server to download updates to the sofwatre. While these are usually simply updateas to the IR database, it can also be used to add features and firmware updates. The difference is that there is a button in the updateable version that when you click it, connects to the URC server to check for updates.
