I am controling a Marantz Sr5001 with an MSC400 via RS232 codes. I can controll on/off, inputs, and other controls just fine. When I try to set the volume with ramp start and ramp speed I get nothing. When testing through the MSC editor I can get the volume to move one set at a time and understand that Ihave to use the remote to test the press and hold. I have changed the speeds saved to both the master and slave MSC then drag to the volume up and volume down on the SR5001 and punched through to the other devices. It does not respond on any of the devices including the SR5001. HELP!

Did you check the repeat while pressed. I don't know about the Marantz but it perfectly with Sherwoods.

I am using a master/slave combination and that is where my problem is me thinks. I had the SR5001 on #7 port of the slave and could not find any combination that worked so I moved it to the master #7 and works perfect. Master #12 port runs to slave #12 and both boxs are checked in config to indicate the master/slave arangement. Master is ID#1 on primary and secondary is not set due to only RS232's being used on #7-#11. Slave is ID#2 and same thing with only SR232 on #7-11.
RF control on the remote is set for 4 receivers and I have tried two different ID setups
Master Primary ID#1 Master Secondary ID#1 Slave Primary ID#2 Slave Secondary ID#2 In this setup Sr5001 volume control works when input to Master only
Master Primary ID#1 Master Secondary ID#2 Slave Primary ID# 3 Slave Secondary ID#4 In this setup SR5001 does not work either master or slave
