I heard today from someone that end-users cannot get the MSC-400 software. Is this true?

URC does not have it listed on their site, and the unit cannot be bought online.

However local Authorized Dealers can sell it and provide the software (In my case, my retailer gave me the Complete Control Suite).

Just an fyi... dealers can give you the software for the units you purchase from them. But are Not supposed to be giving out the Complete Control Suite.

Unless you have an MSC-400 and at least two different remotes, the Complete Control Suite is unnecessary as it will load all of the editors, including those that you don't need.

I understand this, however, I have the MSC-400, a MX-980, and a MX-700 (which I bought directly from URC - yes at one time they actually did this). Guess which one I don't have the latest software for. You guessed it, the MX-700. I have tried many many times to get them to send me an update, but to no avail (for some reason the serial number no longer works on thier web site either). Sorry to jump on the thread, but I just had to vent (sorry).

I have a B&K SR10.1 remote....same as MX700

I use the software for the 850 to program it...the 700, 800 and 850 are pretty much the same

mx700 has no RF, the 700 & 800 have no center button and bad backlight
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

I get that, the 700 is still on the download page, I just can't get anything to download (and I have tried XP, Vista, holding the key, etc). Therefore I am stuck with the IR database from 2 years ago. One day I will check and see if the databases are all the same (hmm, maybe I'll look now).

He probably didn't need to give me the Complete Control Suite...then again, he probably didn't know any better (young kid...seemed fairly new to the job).

I already had the SW for the MX-700, MX-850, MX-900, and MX-3000 (all of which I've purchased authorized online), so the only two I gained that I don't use are the MX-950 and TX-1000.

I never use the CCS anyway when I don't need to...what's with having an 11 mb file that is essentially nothing but a quick launch bar. It takes forever to load. Longer than an editor.

CCS still has a critical bug on my system, possibly related to it being MCE 2005, where it crashes every time it starts up unless I manually modify an XML file before loading (and the next time I want to run it I have to modify the XML again, as it keeps breaking it).

CCS takes up like 30mb of memory, too. The program is basically a big joke, imho. I'd rather simply just open up the MSC editor and MX editor by themselves if I need to have both open.
