Hi All, just ordered a MX900 from an authorized dealer.
Programming a remote sounded great but is all new for me.
Any direction would be appreciated. I have been reading post by others , and made some copy /paste to word files so I can practice.
I have uploaded the editor and read thru the manual a couple of times.
Even loaded a file from the saved area, trying to understand the macro's.
Sure would be nice to have more examples to build from.
Maybe a "MACRO'S For Dummies" type of explination.
I realize the mx900 has a wide variety of functions , so generic examples maybe lacking , but I feel lost at this point.
Not trying to do anything fancy, just enough to let the rest of the house use one remote for the whole system.
Right now i think what is needed is to create macro's .
This forum looks like the answers are available if i keep reading, so any advice or pointing me to some earlier post would be great.
My devices.
Sunfire Ultimate Receiver
Sony Dvp-cx995v 400 disc changer
JVC XL-Mc-301 100 cd changer
Mitsubishi WD-65733 TV

Searching thru the editor appears the Sony DVD is listed
Possibly the SunFire Receiver ?
The JVC listing has a LX-mc-301 maybe a Typo should be XL

When the 900 arrives maybe the live update will have the Mitsu .

Thanks in advance, I'll continue to read /search posts, and work with the editor while waiting for the postman.

For the Mits, try the WD-65732 codes. It's likely that they're the same.

When programming a macro, just think of all the buttons you need to push on your individual remotes to, say, watch a DVD (ie: turn on TV, receiver and DVD player, switch inpus on the receiver and maybe the TV, then go to page 1 of the DVD device). Then, add those commands to the Macro window. Watch out for components that need warm-up time before they'll accept an input switch (like the TV). You'll need to add some delay time for them. Also, you can use the MX-900's ability to have two macros on a buttons to have one macro that you would use if nothing was already on and a second push-and-hold macro that could be used when the TV's already on, thereby bypassing the delay time necessary for an input switch. Hope that makes sense to you. ;-)

Thanks, it's starting to make sense. The 65-732 codes do look like most everthing is in there. On the screen trial it works at least. I'll keep saving my attemps till the unit arrives.
