I can't download to or upload any of my 850 remotes since this morning. I keep getting the error message that either my com port setting is incorrect or my cable is defective. It's not the com port assignment, and i've tried a few different cables.
Do i have a driver issue?
Any help appreciated. Im gonna need to download a few remotes tomorrow. Thanks

Your software version should be 1.12.288. If it's not, do a Live Update to the software.

I mentioned that because that error seems to be occurring with newer MX-850s using older software that hasn't been updated. If that's not working, uninstall and reinstall the software. Try connecting without an update.

In case anyone is wondering, the problem turned out to be my laptops motherboard. Dell is coming to swap it out tomorrow, and i threw my hard drive into another guys computer temporarily.
Thanks Mike for attempting to help. Its very much appreciated.

Had the same problem today with the same software version. I think there might be a bug in the update as it worked fine before.

In my case, I tested the serial port with other serial devices and had no problems, but neither an 850 or 700 would connect today.
