Does anyone know why the IR database for the MX3000 doesn't have the codes for equipment that has been added for theother MX remotes? New Denon, Pioneer and Sony are all missing. I know I can get the Denon codes from Denon and convert them, but why are the lower end remotes getting the data before the MX 3000?

There was a problem with the database of the the MX-3000 that caused them to roll it back to the previous version. It should be updated soon. If you have another MX editor, you could create a file with the Denon codes then use the Universal Browser to add them to your MX-3000 configuration.

I created the codes in a MX 900 editor and transferred things pretty easily, but I haven't tried it yet. I remember when you couldn't transfer preprogrammed codes, only learned ones.
The number of commands for the AVR 4308ci is staggering. I'm not sure what codes I'll need, but it's better than the alternative.

I don't think I could have learned the codes off the factory remote because of the pos factor. On the bright side, I know I'll always sell a remote with every one of the new receivers.

Mike,
I purchased an MX-3000/MRF-300 from you (Surf Remote) around October but just now getting around to programming, due to theater build delay. First thing I noticed was that pretty much none (except for GraphicEye) of my equipment is in the IR database. I do have the correct copy of the software and live update works fine.
My equipment is Denon-4308, Pana AE-1000, Tosh A35, Pana BD30 (soon). I'm subing the code from earlier models, where possible, for now but getting a little concerned if URC is continuing to support the MX-3000, since the 4308 came out around July (I think) and still no IR DB support as of Jan 7 2008.

This is a beautiful unit and, being a programmer, gives me the flexibility I'm looking for but I'm a bit concerned about this.

I don't own other models of URC so I can't convert code, as mentioned (unless I just don't know how).

Do you have any insight for me on this or alternate source/method for codes?

Much Thanks,
Rusty

Have you had a problem with the HD/FM/AM codes?
Manuals?! We don't need no stinking manuals! a.. er..

jeremybe;
Just give those data base codes from earlier models, e.g. 4306 a try.

As a general note, I am rather disappointed how slow URC is with adding new devices (and not just Denon AVR) to their database. Other companies, e.g. Harmony seem to respond so much faster to their customer needs.

I had a Denon 1803 and currently have a 1905 & 3803. The 3808 should be here shortly.

Manufacturers generally use the same codes for each model within a category. I found a file that David Gray put together in 2004 that contains ALL of the Denon receiver codes and I have used it with great success. It's like an adult candy store. There may be additional/new codes in the receivers now, but they can be easily learned.

The file can be found here:

Note that the included Excel spreadsheet is a "rosetta stone" to the .ccf file. The first two columns of the spreadsheet (2-230) correspond to the way the .ccf file is organized.

Hope it helps.

In the mx-3000 file try code 811.

The new 2007 line of Denon Receivers use the KASEIKYO format for the new discrete codes. It is proving difficult (for me at least) to get these converted to Hex.
