The first shipment went to the folks who pre-ordered them at CEDIA earlier this year. I think the next shipment is soon, possibly this week.

Hopefully, those of us not on a pre-order list can get one soon. My theater is done but still needs a remote. Juggling 7 remotes is making me nuts!

URC has been sending them to all authorized dealers so they should be available through any authorized URC reseller.

hey aaron, i actually spoke with you on the phone earlier today. anyway, just curious... why did you change your response? i ask as if no one is "allowed" to solicit here (is it soliciting if i ask for an item?) then i won't keep checking this thread every hour! lol

Internet sales of the MX-980 are not allowed. Contact your local dealer to get one.

When did URC decide to do this? Are any of their other remotes subject to this new policy?

You mean authorized dealers who do internet sales can't get them? That seems odd.

Can you clarify?

Most of the authorized internet dealers I checked don't even have the MX-980 listed now. Ironically there is one listed on eb*y however.

The MX-980 and MSC-400 are both subject to this policy. The other remotes and base stations are not. It's for all authorized dealers, internet or not.

Authorized dealers that do internet sales can get them, but only for in store or local sales/installations.
