Hi All

I've been developing a Denon module for my HT setup on a TSU9600 and RFX9400 extender.

Nearly all commands done (and quite a few undocumented ones) for AVR AVC-A1HDA Australian model (equivalent to US Model AVR-5308ACI) main differences is no XM or Sirius radio. Could implement those very quickly but no way of testing them.

About 6000 lines of code all up!!!!

Many thanks to Jon Welfringer for his TCPIP emulator I would not have started the project without it.

This will also work with many other Denon models as commands are the similar. If a command doesn't exist for a model it just doesn't do anything. The only commands missing would relate to the new EX channels on the xx10 series.

Some cool elements in the design....(I think so anyway :) )

- Scrollable popup menu lists on widget fields and firmkeys, with dragable scrollbars. Also controllable with cursor keys, page up and down, rotary wheel and click on screen.

- Field widgets with auto formatting to units e.g. dB and displaying internal coded values to human readable strings

- Auto display of Input Signal and Decoder status with Images of signal or decoder in use

- Dynamic Volume bars that auto scale (min/max range) for main/channel volume being changed and allows change of volume to where you click on the bar. Can be used for other purposes (Contrast, Hue etc)

- Handles renamed input sources automatically

- NET/USB and iRadio (preset stations and character searches on pulldowns ).

- Lots of status stuff displayed.

Complete list of functionality:

Main Zone (lots of info on this screen)
Zones 2,3 & 4
Channel Levels
Surround Params
Tone Params
Audio Params
Video Params
NET/USB
iRadio
Misc commands

Also implemented iPod but doesn't work (believe there is a bug in the Denon  as it displays the same results as the web interface "No Connection"). I use the
ASD-3W Denon dock ....it works fine with the Denon AVR, but can't communicate with it through the pronto.

There are a couple of other Denon bugs that I have uncovered but minor.

e.g. DTS Discrete being reported as Matrix and signal format of 3/2/.1 being reported as 3/3/.1 via denon commands but report correctly on the on screen GUI.

Will be implementing some more undocumented commands over time.....but most of them can be accessed by the onscreen GUI so a bit of overkill

Sorry didn't know how to insert screenshots.....and don't have access to a web server to paste links but if anyone is interested I can mail them.... just send me a PM

BTW the denon command results are a PIG to parse........

Sorry for going on and on......but pretty proud of the new baby

Cheers

Dominic
