Yup, the extra weight really adds up.
I rented the 4.0L IS & tried the 2.8L at my local store and the weight was comparable, I just figured that when out in feild, the 2.8 would be better on my crop body. When lugging around the body, grip, 3-4 lenses, flash & accessories, whats an extra few ounces? LOL.
Are you looking for studio lighting for portraits or products, like a lightbox or stands/umbrellas?
What are you using for a tripod?
