I did ot hink of doing that. I'll be at this client's house in about 2 weeks. I have a look and show him how to take the batteries out.
Tell him to open the MX3000 battery compartment with a screwdriver (1/4 turn to right, DO NOT TURN IT LIKE A STANDARD SCREW), then unplug the tiny molex plug connecting the battery to the remote.
