I haven't seen this question anywhere or (probably) I'm just not using the right search terms.
If I want to extend the Ir signals out of an MSC-400, what is the maximum distance I can reach using Cat6 cable?
The reason I'm asking is that the installation has three HDTVs in the front wall. The 40" TVs have RS-232 while the bigger center HDTV has no RS-232 capability. All HDTVs are approximately 50 feet from the MSC-400s.
I extended the 40" HDTVs RS-232 signal cables with Cat6 and now I'm trying to work on the Ir-only center HDTV. The maximum Ir emitter cable length I have right now is 10' (URC standard emitters).
I have to believe many other people have hit this problem. I just can't seem to find a good solution. Should I use an Ir repeater block connected to the MSC-400 instead?
