I believe that UEI made remotes are the only ones for which the details of the IR signals are known. So I can't point you at any other remote. If you do plan to get a JP1 capable remote, the OneForAll URC-8820N, 10820N, and RCA RCRP05B are the newest and most capable. The RCA is the most readily available--$20 at Best Buy. It has 5 device buttons, although internally there are actually 8 devices, accessible with the JP1 cable. The 8820N has 8 device buttons, but 10 internal devices. Make sure you get 8820N, not 8820B01--it looks the same, but has an older set of setup codes.
