Edmund is right. The 15-1995 is a no-go for DirecTV. It and the Producer 8 remotes used the 740 processor which has a 50 byte limit for upgrades. Even if that weren't a problem, the executor (the subroutine that generates the specific flashes of IR) for the DirecTV protocol isn't built into those old remotes, and no one has ever written (nor will, I suspect) an DirecTV executor in the assembly language for the 740.
