I'm just pointing out your opportunistic approach in knocking any post that's positive URC in any manner. There was no need to respond to cma's comments other than to try and disparage URC and their policies.

Quite the opposite. I saw cma attacking someone who was well within his reason to be upset with the cost of a repair and was nice enough to share his story of how he was able to take care of it himself.

Reasonable to anyone who has any clue what bench time costs, especially when diagnosing an unknown problem.

A quick look around the web and I see hourly electronics repair rates of as low as $10/hr if your a student or employee of a particular university ($5 for a 30min job!!!), $35/hr for a handyman service that'll come to your house, $50 on up. But URC just has a flat rate. They don't repair anything, they just swap.

But again, this is irrelevant too. Just because a charge can be justified doesn't mean the charge is acceptable. That's why for instance Sony writes down the cost of their Play Stations and cell phone companies often give away phones. They take a loss in one area in anticipation of making profits in another.

Sorry..., my mistake. I meant to type "himself", not "myself".

Ahh!

lol... You honsetly believe that the entire time spent on the problem has a total of 15mins...? Considering the other opinions I've seen you post. I guess I should expect a yes to that question.

Neither, because I don't care how long it took him. How he decides to spend his spare time is not a factor, anymore than someone who'd rather spend a few hours mowing their lawn on the weekend rather then pay someone else to do it.
