You are incorrect. The end-user downloadable software for the MX-810 is fully internet updateable for both the application and the IR database (unlike the software for the MX-850, 900, 3000).

My suspicion is that URC does not check to see if a remote serial number has already been entered into their registration database. I have "registered" my remote three times, albeit under the same name and details. So, either they're cross checking against the data entered into a previous registration, or they just don't care about previous registrations... I suspect the latter.
