By all means, upload your configuration and store it. Then store it again with a different name -- I often put a 1 at the end of the first one, then store the first several changes with a 2 at the end, etc. Every ten or twelve changes, if paranoid, save again with a new revision number. This way you can always go back if you need to.

There's a software flaw with a related product, the Marantz RC5200, where the program crashes if you modify a macro and add a time delay. Time delays are inserted at the end of the list, and sometimes when you scoot it up to the top, the editor crashes. THAT is when you want to have recently saved your work for sure!
