I betcha this isn't a problem. You should be able to re-locate the balun to the VHF element(s) of the antenna and discard the UHF components.

This would have been a lot easier 15 years ago when we had a 30 year
old vertically stacked VHF only separate from the UHF. But it didn't
survive one winter. lost a few to many reflectors/directors.
Not to many VHF only antenna out there on the retail market these days,
at a reasonable price, I found at the time.

I bought a VHF-hi only antenna last year and it wasn't expensive. My thoughts are the VHF-lo band is being vacated anyway so no point worrying about it.
