I don't get your post

1) if a player looks like he will tackle you in 3D then he looks like he will tackle you in 2D (i.e. coming towards the camera) so if the camera is 2D or 3D and you see it in 2D or 3D it does not matter.

2) 3D movies on Imax screens are growing. Many of the top movies (like HP, SM....) play in the 3D Imax rooms and so they were originally filmed to do 3D even though the vast majority saw it on a 2D screen and right now 3D is not available on screen.
