All I use is a $3, 1/8" stereo miniplug cable to connect my iPod Touch and my 7.1 A/V amp sounds incredibly better than any of the miriad docks I tried with my iTouch at BestBuy and Target last weekend. What they need to produce is an A/V home theater amp with docking port right in the front middle that can take over control of the ipod via remote control including porting the video output through to a connected HDTV.
