I think I have solved some of the problem. The emitter,
when placed directly over the IR does NOT work. I unstuck
the emitter and held it approx 1" away and it worked perfectly.
The device is a Motorola Cable Box DCT6200. I will test
it on another device and report back. My firmware levels
are 9400 = 1.0.34 and
9600 = 1.3.4. Has anyone heard of this before?
There's also a switch on the extender for normal or low power for the IR port. Did you not adjust that as well?
