IR input direct on some AV devices my need to have the carrier stripped. Some implementation like the RFX9600 offer a solution by adjusting the IR power level.
Another very common issue with IR Input direct is that some AV equipment manufacturer use INVERTED IR encoding on their IR direct input ports.
Some PIONEER rear projection screens for example use Inverted IR encoding for IR – Direct versus IR over EMITTER.
We should make a request to add options in Pronto Editor for “NO CARRIER” in those cases where CARRIER can saturate the manufactures direct IR-INPUT optical circuits. Most manufactures are not even specifying this or are not aware of this technical detail.
However these two options a)NO Carrier b)Inverted encoding
Should be made available by the TSU9600 pronto editor and RFX9600 and RFX9400 extender. It is a common feature in most high end automation systems.
For the short term you may want to adjust the output level with the dip switches on the back of the RFX9600 to avoid the optical saturation. I hope it will work for you.
