To configure the RFX9400 for the first time see below.

1) Connect the Extender to the PC with the configuration cable that came with the unit. Connect one side of the cable to the ethernet jack on the back of the Extender. Connect the other side to the ethernet jack (network card) on your PC.

2) Set the CONFIG switch on the back of the Extender to 2. Once set to 2 the power and Ethernet LEDs of the Extender should be green and the Busy LED should be blinking red/green.

3) Type the IP address of the Extender into your Internet browser which will open the configuration tool. The IP address of the Extender will be printed on the bottom of the Extender.

Once you've got the configuration tool up you can configure the Extender as needed. The documentation which came with the RFX9400 can be very helpful in this regard. Please review said documention. Also, please take advantage of the search feature here at the forums. There are several threads already started regarding the RFX9400 which you may find useful. Lastly, when going to update the firmware of the Extender via the configuration tool make sure that you haven't unzipped the firmware file as you'll need to browse to the actual zip file via the configuration tool. Said firmware update can be downloaded via the files section at this site or directly from Philips. Once you've finished both configuring and running the firmware update for the Extender make sure to set the Use switch on the back of the Extender to 1 and recycle the power.
