The best way is to use the GRX-AV rs232 interface to control the graphic eyes.
With infrared you have to use separate ir-outputs for each graphic eye.
The GRX needs to be controlled with a three wire (i think straight) connection.
When it's rs232 long cable runs of about 50m are no problem

The connection between graphic eyes and grx-av rs232 is lutron-'bus', so easy to implement
