I ran into a lot of problems with the SA8300 and found that the box is very susceptibl to IR overload. It is very possible that even with the doors closed you are sending enough of an IR command to rebder the box useless. I brought my box back to Cablevision and swapped it out for a new one and it was 100x better. Apparently there was a firmware update somewhere down the line that addressed some of the boxes problems.

Not to knock URC but I'll also admit that I set up an RTI system in the same environment in about 1/20th of the time with the RF working flawlessly without any tweaks, trials or tribulations.
