My son just went to a Tweeter store to purchase a MX remote.
I would assume they are an authorized dealer. He was
told by the salesman that he couldn't get the software
with the live updates from them! This new policy seems
to have a lot of holes.
The reason for the policy is two fold:
1) Protect pricing for authorized dealers.
2) Protect the quality of the line by having it programmed by authorized dealers.
They dont have to give you the complete control software. The remote is sold as a remote. Programming is sold seperatly.
