I just can't see any logical reason for URC not to release this to the general public. It's not as if they will cost CI's any revenue by doing so. Other than CI's, the only people that would possibly be interested in the expansion pack are, as you so ineloquently pointed out, DIYers. I find it unlikely that a DIYer such as myself would suddenly decide to go out and pay someone else to program their remote for them. In fact, quite the opposite is probably true. By upsetting a large base of both existing and potential customers, URC runs the risk that people like me will start to abandon their products altogether. IF URC wants to ignore the DIY market, that's their prerogative. I just don't think it's a fiscally responsible move on their part. I'm sure there are a lot of people just itching for an excuse to try out new models by the likes of RTI, UEI, etc ...
