The Pronto is not the only good customizable remote. Maybe one of the only full touchscreens, but by far not my favorite remote.

I really like URC's. The MX-series are wonderful. I like them a whole lot better than Prontos. I like the non-touchscreen LCD's.

And the MX-3000 is a good touchscreen remote.

Ali, if the a/c cannot be controlled by IR, how do you plan on using it with a Pronto hex code? You'd have to use ddarche's suggestion, and that's way over my head.
