Has anyone had any experience with Rhapsody or any other UPnP service with the Philips RC9800i? I have not been able to get Rhapsoday working with the RC9800i. I can view the server as well as all of the albums/songs/etc...I just can't play them. From what I can tell the RC9800i is not supported by Rhapsody UPnP. I also tried saving the songs as WMA files and then playing them on the RC9800i since it supports DRM playback. I can play the files in the Philips Media Manager...just not on the remote. Any help would be appreciated...seems like a shame to waste that feature. I also had problems viewing pictures at first but that was solved by updating the firmware.

I tried resolving these issues with Philips Customer Service...my god they are horrible...so horrible its funny. I realize that a company's first line of customer defense is always the D Squad but man...they were bad. Nothing I hate more than a tech support staffer that doesn't know anything but think they know everything. The first guy was a fool...hated his job obviously. He tried to tell me everything but anything useful...he was very rude also...clueless but kept telling me things like I had to have a firewall when I don't...all of my files needed to be renamed to *.jpeg to work. I can't stand an idiot who tries to tell me something that I know to be false. The next guy wasn't too bad...still fairly clueless...but very polite...he hooked me up with the firmware. The third guy was another clueless rude guy. Apparently his solution was to rename all of my files *.mp3...what the hell is with these guys renaming files! I know some of their older products had issues with filenames but come on! You could tell that each person just wanted off the phone. I told them but the product obviously states that it supports many varied file formats and asked, "So you're telling me that this only supoprts MP3 playback?"...as I was listening to a WMA file on it that I recorded earlier...he said Yep...and that was the end.

I guess the RC9800i can't handle Rhapsody or DRM playback. I don't know what UPnP service they're talking about that it supports...Rhapsody/REAL is the largest. At least I can picture the rude tech support guys driving home in beat up rusty Yugos to serve their incredibly large and hairy lady friends....
