I'm still using the 9800i. The media server I bought is the slm5500, because I thought this is a streamium device (=compatible) unfortunately it is NOT. It is not even possible to add this device as an UpNp renderer in the add devices menu. In this menu the 9800i looks on the network for devices and because the slm5500 doesn't respond such that the 9800i will see it, it doesn't show up. And if no device shows up the next button is greyed out. Therefore I had to add the slm5500 as an MCE device (and learn all ir codes manually) which is not the best option because I have now a record button and a TV guide which doesn't make sense for the slm5500.

The slm5500 is a reasonable device, but has, as all these devices issues. To name some:
no srt subtitle support
no AC3 stream output through digital coax cable only stereo (something the sl400i has)
support for the 9800i

see [Link: streamiumcafe.com]

for the discussion. I am still looking for the "perfect device" and if I find him I will let you know.

Best regards
