First. The "TAP" sound comes from the hardware.
The sound you are refering to is a "BEEP" wich
I have turned OFF in the software settings. Everytime
you press a hard button you hear this "TAP" twice,
one when you press the button and another when
you let go the hardbutton.

Willy, I misunderstood what you have meant. Now, its clear. Yes, I agree with you that the hardbuttons (the buttons on the side and the firmkeys) gives a Tap sound when pressed and released and this may be annoying to users.
And the hard buttons are realyy hard. You have
to press them strong enough to make them preform
the action.

I agree with this also.
Second. I am not talking about animations, wich
I have set to OFF. It is the overall performance
of the remote. It is slow. When I press a button,
the action is not performed instantaneously (a
jump, an IR command). Even sending IR commands
are slow in macros.

I was not clear in my explaination. That was just a bit of additional info (unrelated to ur question) I thought of giving.
Anyway I think the speed of the remote may be
fix by a firmware?

alsuba: do you have this remote? maybe you can
share your thoughts...

Willy.

Yes,I have a TSU3000 remote with me. When I tried out some steps after seeing ur comment, I identified this strange thing:
I had set my button beep to zero (no beep) and then I downloaded a new PCF file. The setting still showed No beep but it was actually beeping. When I altered the settings again, I was able to set it into No beep mode. Maybe, you can also try this.
An extra info: I tried to measure the speed of IR transmission by changing channels in a TV. I counted approximately 65 channel changes in a minute.
