The tap sound which comes when you press the LCD and buttons can be controlled by the settings. To do it, click on the activity icon (the one before the device overview button). It will take you to the settings page. Use PageDown to goto the second page where you can control the sound settings.
If you feel that the animations are slow, you can turn them off also using the settings in the same page so that your pronto responds faster.
