I've spent hours searching and reading and have not been able to solve my problem. Any help, either directly or a link, is greatly appreciated.

I want to revert from Firmware 3.9.8.0 to 3.1.15 to try and resolve a contrast issue that happened only after updating to firmware 3.9.8.0 using the latest version of ProntoEdit 3.0.8.0.

When I tried to revert back the first time, I ended up with a dead Pronto 3000. I was able to reinstall firmware 3.9.8.0 after 40-50 failed tries.

Now I am hesitant to try and reload the 3.1.15 firmware.

To clarify my issue:

After updating the firmware from 3.1.15 to 3.9.8.0 I loaded a new PCF using ProntoEdit 3.0.8.0. This resulted in a screen that could not be read because it was so washed out.

Usng the hard lighting button only adjusted the screen lighting in one inrement. Using the system tools settings "lighting" made no adjustment.

Specific questions:

1. What is the safest way to revert back to my previous firmware?

2. Could the ProntoEdit version be contributing to the contrast issue.

3. Is it possible the contrast issue at the time of firmware update is purely concidence?

4. Is there a concise list of contrast issues and fixes?

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Regards,

-M
