Hate to say it GlaCial but it's sounding very much like
there's either a problem with the battery or the remote's
circuit board (specifically something related to power).
I have a TSU7000 in daily use and it never locks up.
I don't understand why removing the battery and plugging it back in would wake the remote if it were a circuit board or battery problem. Care to hypothesize?
