I owned the RFX 6000 and sold it for $25 it was such a piece of garbage. They claim 100 feet of range but it would miss codes when I was 4 feet away and I could almost touch the rf base if I leaned back in my recliner. I only bought it to use for multi room to my patio / hot tub (I got a water proof bag for my 7500). Unless you plan to put it in an open grassy field with nothing else around, it will get interference and have no or unreliable operation. My advice is to not bother, a $1000 remote has no buisness outside for me anyway, with or without a water proof bag. Or if you have to, buy the RFX 6500. The improvements from what I hear is why the RFX 6500 is still worth some money on the used market. Good luck.
