Ok ... solved! Evidently the reinstall was not happy!
I reinstalled OVER top (repair) of the existing installation - no good. The key was to UNINSTALL iProntoEdit completely, restart the computer and do a fresh install of the iProntoEdit software. All is well, at least as well as can be expected :-)
Sorry I jumped to the forum so quickly for help, but maybe this experience will help another ... Chris
