Given your expertise I am suprised that you would ask such a question or have a problem with programming the different hard buttons. FYI, you will have to learn to each vol hard button and this is a bit of a pain if you don't have one that is easy to learn. If you link the button to a alias it will send out the vol command in a 1 sec burst whether you quickly push it or hold it down. On my toshiba tv that means 3 vol increments and it really annoying to keep hitting vol over and over to have it go more than that.
