I had this very problem today (just got my neo) with my Panasonic RP62 -- the only button the neo wouldn't take was the stop button. I had to use another universal remote that had already taken the stop button code, and keep trying. Took a while, but after the usual adjustments (45 degree angle, various distances apart...etc) it finally worked.

I guess the message is -- keep trying!
