I have a fairly simple setup (TV, Recvr, DVD, Cable Box), and I think I spent about 4 hours total configuring my setup. But the results were well worth it! The Guide feature is invaluable, and the ability to switch between activities is really sweet.
My biggest wish (besides better setup software and faster upload speed) is some way to label the 'side' buttons. So far, I've had to tell people to use the wheel as a button and how to switch 'modes' with the other button.
In terms of software, I'd love to see a spiffy GUI to layout your menus...
