Sounds like I was thinking along the right lines. The first thing I tried doing was changing my device "start-up" sequence only to learn you simply do not have that option on the 676 (like you said).

I've played with the delay time a little bit but gave up when I didn't see any results. What really gets me though is that the whole thing was running perfectly for a good 6 months. I can't figure out why all of a sudden it got impatient about "shaking hands" as you put it.
