I understand.
The reason I do this is that sometimes the TV is recording while I want to watch something else. I cannot just turn the TV to another channel since the Tivo is outputing a signal through the RF cable. Standby simply turns off the signal.
So ...
I setup Tivo Off to put the Tivo into standby and Tivo On to take it out of standby.
