EDIT: I'm an IDIOT! In fact akirby, the key was dead... because I killed it! For some reason I blanked out the drop-down list for that key. A very dee dee dee move on my part. All is well!

OK, I've tried different keys, creating a custom key, raw and regular learn mode, still nothing!
I visited
[Link: logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com]and took their advice of covering the remotes to limit light, also experimented with distance and found the two had to be very close together, 1-2", to get the confirmation.
I learned the "Back" command to the down-arrow button on the 880 no problems, so it is possible to learn from the HR20 remote.
Stumped!
